Zombie games are usually a treat because they provide an adrenaline rush that is hard to replicate. Zombies are terrifying creatures that can make anyone's skin crawl. However, it is not necessary to use zombies in truly terrifying settings in order to provide a solid gaming experience. Zombie games can be funny yet slightly terrifying and can be entertaining all the while too. Zombie Road Trip tries to offer a similar experience in this wild goose chase by the zombies of your innocent ride. The game is a mix of racing and adventure games and let's see if the ZPLAY Games have got it right or not with their game Zombie Road Trip.

Once you download the game and get started, you would be slightly surprised at the permissions requested by the app. The app requires access to making calls and access to your phone storage. There are no explanations for why these permissions are required. However, the good thing is that the zombie game doesn't make these permissions compulsory and you can deny the permissions if you find them too creepy.
The app has a solid design with the homepage having a creepy feeling that adds a nice layer of intrigue. There are four options available on the home screen other than the "Ride" button that takes you to the actual game. The options represent buying options. You can either buy cars that you can use during racing or try your hand at different weapons that can be used to actually take down some zombies. There are a variety of gadgets and other items available in shop that can also be bought using in-game currency.

Once you start the actual game, you would be asked for the utilities that you would want to carry for a particular round. These include health, speed and other items though you would have to buy them with in-game currency. The game itself has a very simple gameplay. You are basically being chased by horde of zombies and you are in a nice car trying to ensure that you reach the destination without being caught by them. You would face further zombies on the road and you can either kill them using a weapon or can roll them over with your car directly. Hitting a zombie directly would slow you down so this is the least preferable option. There are also two tricks that you can perform during the ride i.e. the front flip and the back flip with these two controls available at the bottom of the screen. You are also provided three objectives for the ride that would help you earn some in-game currency.

The overall gameplay is interesting with the layout very intriguing as well. The graphics of the zombie game are good enough with the zombie horde providing much needed impetus in the game. The background music adds to the intrigue of the gameplay. The problem lies slightly with the controls as there is not much to control in the entire ride. You can only work with the two front and backflip buttons and a fire button that fires at oncoming zombies. Further controlling of speed would be a good addition if possible as otherwise, there is not much to do during the whole ride.
